Hello again everyone! Sorry that there hasn’t been many posts recently, we’ve just had a little bit of a hectic week with the Holiday Auction and the election results. Scout, Celina, and Sofy have all returned to the US and we will miss them (and the baby panda updates!) dearly. Our next group of interns will arrive at the end of November so there will be just enough of a gap for you all to concentrate on bidding for cute panda items 😉
Scout, Sofy and Celina continue to send me blogs – I think their last weeks got super hectic as well! Scout actually sent this to me multiple weeks ago so I’m sorry for the HUGE delay in getting it out to you but here she is:
“There isn’t much to update on any of the pandas this week except the fact that the babies are all so big now, especially the 3 month olds like Shu Qin, Mei Xi, and Xi Dou’s cubs. Unfortunately, Sofy left on Monday to go back to Miami and we were trying to fit in as much of Ya’an as we could before she left. The most exciting thing we did, which was also the scariest (in honor of Halloween) was climb the infamous “Ladder of Ya’an” which we had heard so much about.
Climbing the Ladder was easily the biggest adrenaline rush I’d experienced since being in Ya’an and about 5 minutes into the climb I realized how terrified I actually was of heights! After about 30 minutes of exhaustion and fear, we finally made it to the top!
Much to our surprise, there was actually a lot to do at the top, like go to the Jinfeng Temple! I’ve attached some more pictures from our adventure, enjoy!
Coin throwing challenge!
P.S. Celina and I both leave in a week! I can’t believe how incredibly fast time is going, it feels like we just got here yesterday!”
I’m very sad as I type this last post of Scouts. They’ve been a fantastic group of interns but luckily Scout is from Portland and Celina’s not far away so we’ll have to convince Sofany to come and visit the west coast sometime for a reunion!
