Panda People!
Only about 2 weeks left here in beautiful Ya’an and I couldn’t be anymore upset about the fact. I thought by now I would be itching to get back to Los Angeles, back to my first-world life in sunny California. But I have grown enormously attached to our home here and our daily routine at the Bifengxia base and I’m almost positive that I’m going to cry when the last day comes upon us.
Most of all, however, I will miss the pandas. Every single one of them.
In the last week and a half I have been busy soaking up the last of the observations I will be participating in. The moms are finally able to get some shut eye now that the babies are a bit bigger (picture 2 month old fluffy St. Bernard puppy size – adorable!) and can fend for themselves a bit more.
Here are some pictures!!
Only a few more posts from us interns until the Thanksgiving break!

Thank you for the pictures! It seems like the time has gone by so quickly but you’ve had 3 months that you will NEVER forget! Happy Halloween! Will we hear from you again before come back stateside?
I can only imagine your sadness at leaving! Just a few days in BFX and I don’t want to leave….ever. Thank you so much for sharing while you have been there. I love the photos of the babies in this blog. You interns really are very fortunate….3 months with the pandas so up close and personal…..an unforgettable time in your life. Treasure the memories. And like many of us you will return again and again.
