As PDXWildlife says goodbye to the winter interns, the breeding season is also coming to a quick close. With only a few female stragglers remaining, it was a very successful time for both the bears and for PDXWildlife. Given that this is our first collection of male-male competition data, we are very pleased with the results. After being thrust into the Chinese culture, given a busy and constantly changing research schedule, Alyssa, Jenn, Ari & Nicki were able to navigate the often tiring requirements of being a PDXWildlife intern. For this, Meghan and I are very proud and thankful.

Each of you made a lasting impression with the keepers and managers here at Bifengxia and you will be missed. The fact that you were able to gather the required research as well as blend into and embrace the culture speaks volumes about your personalities and work ethic. We wish you good luck in your travels and your return back home. Keep us posted on your whereabouts in the following months.

Sincerely,

Nathan & Meghan
