Two beloved bears from the United States- Tai Shan from the National Zoo and Mei Sheng from the San Diego Zoo, were our first stops at Dujiangyan. They both seemed to be drawing in quite a crowd from the other fellow tourists/onlookers, including Hailey and myself. With the weather reaching an uncomfortable 90 degrees, the bears looked like they were dreaming of winter snowstorms with each successive pant.
We spent the morning at the base saying hello to everyone, but we also managed to squeeze in a quick tour. With the afternoon free to roam about, Hailey and I took off for the city center to take in a few sights and to check on the bus schedules. Along the way, next to the main entrance to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, we found a giant panda and tried to get creative with our pics.
Over the next few days, we plan on focusing on the fecal hormone analysis. Wish us luck with our poop adventures.
